Future Plans

Although I haven’t fully committed to a university for this coming fall, my top three choices that I am choosing between are UC Davis, UC San Diego, and UC Berkeley. Right now, I’m leaning more towards studying at UC Davis for Molecular and Medical Microbiology. This specific genre of biology has fascinated me ever since I took Freshman Biology, when I first learned about how microscopic organisms play such a huge role in health and disease. It sparked a passion that’s only grown over the years, and it's something I truly want to dive deeper into.

Another reason Davis is such a great fit for me is the access to hands-on resources like research labs and internships that will help put me on a strong track toward studying medicine. The opportunities available there will allow me to build a solid foundation and keep me focused on my long-term goal of getting into medical school, which is a dream I’ve had since elementary school.

In Grad school, I plan to pursue a career in medicine and hope to specialize in Anesthesiology, a field that really interests me because of the mix of precision, science, and patient care involved. As far as medical school goes, I’m hoping to attend UC San Diego because of their excellent medical program, well-known graduate biology resources, and a campus environment that really supports future physicians. After finishing college, I plan to complete a residency and fellowship, and ultimately become an Anesthesiologist, ready to make a difference in people’s lives.
